Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary, founded by Elizabeth Feldhausen, has been a safe space for cats in need and a beloved part of the community. On Wednesday, June 24th, a torrential rainfall and hail storm caused a partial roof collapse at the sanctuary. The building was quickly evacuated, and after many tense and emotional moments, 44 cats inside were safely retrieved. While everyone is safe, the sanctuary’s building has been condemned, and Safe Haven will not be able to return.
